Alpine skiing/snowboarding
Mount Spokane is open through Jan. 5 for holiday skiers and will return to its normal schedule of Thursday through Monday thereafter. Night skiing is available this weekend for $10. Info - 238-2220.
49 Degrees North will host its Holiday Night Skiing tonight and Saturday night from 4 to 8. Info - 935-6649.
At Red Mountain, excellent skiing and snowboarding conditions were reported in the Paradise area. The T Bar and the Red Chair are closed until conditions at lower elevations improve.
Big Mountain has 100 percent of its terrain open, and chairs 1, 2, 3, 6 and 7 have all been groomed.
Nordic skiing
Also at Big Mountain, the Nordic Center has been reported groomed and set. Info - (406) 862-3511.
In the Methow Valley, 148 kilometers of trails have been cleared and groomed. All areas are open except for Patterson Lake, Wolf Ridges and Winthrop. Info - 996-3287.
Snowmobiling
The Spokane County Parks Department is regrooming snowmobile trails on Mount Spokane after a 4x4 truck destroyed them in a joy ride. A spokesman said they are planning to have the trails groomed by this morning and would appreciate if the trails were used by sleds only.
