Enis Scores 27 As Reign Roll

Shalonda Enis scored 27 points and pulled down 15 rebounds as the Seattle Reign snapped a 10-game losing streak Friday night with an 80-69 victory over the Atlanta Glory.

“I wanted to win and do whatever it took to do that,” Enis said after the Reign (7-21) ended a winless streak that began Nov. 29.

It was the first victory in seven tries for new Reign coach Tammy Holder.

The Glory led 55-53 after three quarters but Seattle then began a 16-4 run. Val Whiting had 17 points for Seattle and Kate Starbird scored 14.

Center Tari Phillips scored seven of her 19 points in the fourth quarter and had 12 rebounds as Colorado defeated Philadelphia.

Trailing 61-47 after three quarters, the Rage (11-16) opened the fourth quarter on a 7-0 run to pull to 61-54 with 6:52 remaining. Phillips then scored five straight points for Colorado (12-15) to stop the Philadelphia comeback.

Tonya Edwards and Valerie Still had 21 points each and four other Columbus players scored in double figures as the Quest beat New England.

It was the 11th straight home victory for Columbus.

The Blizzard jumped out to an early lead, due in part to Carolyn Jones’ 10-for-11 effort from the foul line in the first half. Jannon Roland’s 3-pointer with 8:13 remaining in the second quarter gave New England its biggest lead of the night to that point, 28-19.
