King Wins Olympic Bonus
Suzanne King, her Olympic berth already secure, collected a $10,000 bonus by winning a two-day cross-country ski race and becoming the only double winner in the U.S. Ski Team Olympic trials in Lake Placid, N.Y.
King went 15K in 32:31.9 for a two-day aggregate of 50:08.9. Laura Wilson of Ketchum, Idaho, was second.
Justin Wadsworth, 29 seconds behind leader Marcus Nash after the first segment, won the 15K pursuit in 42:31.8.
In Jericho, Vt., Kara Salmela beat the field for a second time, giving her the overall lead and a good shot at winning a spot on the U.S. Olympic biathlon team. Andy Erickson won the 20K race, but Dan Westover held a slim lead in the overall men’s competition.
