Cardinal Whip Ducks, Run Record To 13-0
Kris Weems scored a career-high 34 points Monday night as seventh-ranked Stanford remained unbeaten by routing Oregon 89-67 in Eugene, Ore.
Stanford (13-0, 2-0) needs one victory to match its best start ever, set in the 1936-37 season.
The Cardinal, who never trailed in a 68-48 win over Oregon State on Saturday, took the lead for good 2-1/2 minutes into the game against Oregon.
Oregon (6-5, 1-1) trailed 43-27 at the half and never got closer than 13 after that.
On Saturday, Stanford won with defense, holding the Beavers to 18 percent shooting. On Monday, the Cardinal did it with offense, shooting 55 percent, including 10-of-14 from 3-point range.
The Cardinal’s offensive onslaught quickly quieted the normally raucous Oregon crowd.
Weems, who shot 2 of 7 and scored only four points against Oregon State, was 13 for 18 against Oregon, including 4-for-6 on 3-pointers.
David Moseley came off the bench to score 13 for Stanford, including 3 of 3 from long range. Peter Sauer also scored 13 for the Cardinal.
Henry Madden led Oregon with 19 points. Jamar Curry and Jonathan Nelson added 10 apiece.

Baron Davis, a freshman maturing by the minute in Pac-10 action, brought the Bruins from behind with a steal, two jumpers and a key defensive rebound as they outlasted the Sun Devils in Tempe, Ariz.
It was the 18th consecutive win for UCLA (10-2, 1-1) in the series since Arizona State (11-4, 1-1) beat the Bruins in 1989. The Sun Devils haven’t beaten a ranked team since a double-overtime upset of Arizona in 1995.
Davis, who had a career-low five points and fouled out Saturday night in an 87-75 loss at Arizona, was scoreless at halftime and played the final 13:50 with four fouls.
But he grabbed a pass from the Sun Devils’ Ahlon Lewis at midcourt and dunked to tie it 63-63 with 5:31 to play.
After Arizona State’s Bobby Lazor made a free throw, Davis gave the Bruins the lead for good at the 4:57 mark with a 13-foot jumper from the side. He hit another from the same spot with 2:06 to go for a 75-68 UCLA lead.
With 30 seconds left, Eddie House missed a 3-pointer, and Davis got the rebound. He was fouled and made one free throw to expand the lead to 76-70 with 23 seconds left.

The Trojans (4-8, 0-2) got 30 points from Gary Johnson and 20 from Elias Ayuso but still dropped their seventh straight.
