Wilbur-Creston Halts Wellpinit Win Streak

Wilbur-Creston ended Wellpinit’s perfect record Tuesday, but only after both teams heated up in the fourth quarter.
Cherie Dreger hit two 3-pointers in the fourth quarter, when she scored nine of her 11 points, as the visiting Wildcats (7-4) outlasted the Redskins 74-69 in a non-leaguer.
W-C hit 9 of 9 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter and 13 of 16 for the game. Miranda Payne finished with 24 points and Mandy Stearns had four 3-pointers in the fourth quarter for the Redskins (9-1), whose last loss was Feb. 14, 1997, at the Panorama League Tournament.
