Newman Lake Woman Killed In Arizona

A Spokane Valley woman was killed when two 18-wheelers collided on a highway in northwest Arizona, authorities said today.

The victim, Guyanne Jensen, 59, of Newman Lake, was a passenger in a rig driven by Glen Knudson, also of Newman Lake, the state Department of Public Safety said.

Jensen was pronounced dead at the scene of Wednesday night’s accident on U.S. 93 about 20 miles south of Wikieup.

The cause of the accident was unclear and remained under investigation, Department of Public Safety spokesman Bob Stein said.

Knudson was taken to a Phoenix hospital. His condition was not immediately available on Thursday night.

The driver of the other 18-wheeler was not injured, Stein said.
