Three From Ewu Make Camp List

Eastern Washington University linemen Jim Buzzard, Kevin Peterson and Chris Scott were selected Thursday to the Walter Camp NCAA Division I-AA All-American football team.

Buzzard and Peterson played on the offensive line for an offense that led I-AA in total offense. Scott, a defensive tackle, had 59 tackles, including 10 sacks.

Only 24 players nationwide were selected to the team in a vote of coaches and sports information directors.

Last week seven Eagles players were named to the Football Gazette All-America squad. They were Buzzard on the first team, Scott and running back Rex Prescott on the third team and middle linebacker Derek Strey, wide receiver Jeff Ogden, free safety Maurice Perigo and quarterback Harry Leons on the honorable mention list.

The Walter Camp squad is the last of five All-America teams selected in I-AA. Eight different Eagles - all seniors - combined for a total of 22 All-America honors. Buzzard was named to four first teams.
