Jones Leads N.C. State To Win Over Virginia

LySchale Jones scored 22 points, the final two to give No. 17 North Carolina State the lead for good with 2:16 left, and the Wolfpack ended a 15-game losing streak against No. 9 Virginia with a 67-59 victory Sunday at University Hall in Charlottesville, Va.
Jones made two of the biggest plays, first heaving in a shot from just inside the 3-point line with 3:07 left to draw the Wolfpack to within 59-58, then putting them in front to stay on a 12-footer with 2:16 remaining.
The Wolfpack (14-1, 5-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) closed with an 11-0 run and remained the only unbeaten team in the ACC. They beat Virginia (11-3, 2-3) for the first time since Feb. 24, 1990, when they won 77-64 at Charlottesville.

At Nashville, Tenn., Nettie Respondek scored 17 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead the Commodores (13-1, 4-0 SEC) over the Tigers (11-3, 1-3).
Respondek hit four 3s in the first half to help give the Commodores take a 31-29 lead. Her lone 3-pointer of the second half, with 13:25 to play, started a 16-4 run that broke the game open.
