Report Says Raiders, Gruden Complete Deal
The rumors swirling around Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Jon Gruden and the Oakland Raiders’ coaching vacancy intensified, with Fox TV reporting a deal was complete.
Various news outlets have reported Gruden was the top choice for the vacancy created when Joe Bugel was fired on Jan. 6.
Raiders spokesman Mike Taylor said there was nothing new in the search for a coach.
Gruden had a follow-up interview Tuesday with the Raiders, his fourth meeting with Oakland officials in the past two years.
Ray Anderson, the agent for Vikings coach Dennis Green, told reporters Wednesday night that if Green does not receive a contract extension in about a week he will resign or seek a buyout.
Vikings President Roger Headrick said he will not extend Green’s contract until the team is sold.
