Higgins To Undergo Brain Surgery

From Staff Reports

Rob Higgins is taking a leave of absence from the Spokane City Council while he recovers from surgery.

Higgins, 49, will have an operation Monday to remove a tumor from his brain.

Higgins said he expects to be in the hospital about five days. His doctor has told him he must stay home at least a month to recover.

The energetic, upbeat Higgins said he plans to be “dealing with everything by phone” as soon as possible.

“In a couple weeks, I may even get to a (council) meeting,” he said.

Voters decided last November to return Higgins to the council after an eight-year hiatus. He served on the council from 1982 to 1989. , DataTimes
