Mccaslin Will Hold Town-Hall Meeting Tuesday

Spokane County Commissioner Kate McCaslin will discuss county road issues and general citizen concerns at a town hall meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Rockford.

The meeting will be held at the Rockford City Hall, W. 20 Emma.

McCaslin will discuss transportation issues and seek input on the priorities of south county residents.

All topics are open for discussion.

Hair salon holds benefit

Ambiance Hair Salon is holding a half-price haircut promotion to benefit the Spokane Food Bank.

Through Jan. 31, the salon will offer a half-price haircut or a free 15-minute massage to anyone bringing in three cans of food.

For six cans of food, the customer can get both.

The offer applies to walk-ins as well as customers with appointments. A coupon is available for anyone not needing a haircut in the next week.

The salon is located at 13127 E. Sprague.

Bluegrass shows planned

The Western Bluegrass Alliance is sponsoring a free Bluegrass show the first Saturday of each month, beginning Feb. 7.

The 8 p.m. shows will take place in the auditorium at Otis Orchards Elementary School, 22000 E. Wellesley.

Northwest bluegrass groups, as well as individual fiddlers, banjo pickers, mandolin and guitar players and other musicians will be featured. The non-profit alliance hopes to showcase local bluegrass talent and attract new fans and musicians. to the music style.

Game benefits CV dance team

The Sheriff’s Department’s DARE basketball team will face off with a team from KXLY-TV Friday for a Central Valley High fund-raiser. The game will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the high school. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for students. Children 6 and under are free.

Proceeds will go toward the school’s Winter Guard program, a competitive dance team.
