Lakeside Garners Unofficial State Title

Defending State A/B champion Lakeside won the 2A division of the Dream Duals, the state’s unofficial wrestling dual-meet championships Saturday.

Jason Belyea (115 pounds), Tim Weisser (122), Anthony Layton (129), Jason Christen (141), Matt Westenfelder (168) and Chad Charbonneau (275) went 3-0 for Lakeside, which defeated Mt. Baker for the title.

East Valley lost to Moses Lake in the 3A championship. EV’s John Summers (101), Justin Walker (129) and Brad Crockett (141) went undefeated.

Central Valley placed third in the 4A.
