Monster ‘Deer’
Hunting
The mystery of the ‘monster deer’ spotted in the foothills of California’s Sierra Nevada Range ended this fall when a hunter shot the animal.
The hunter was stunned and crestfallen to discover it was an 800-pound Roosevelt elk, the first ever documented in that region. State Fish and Game Department officials said the elk must have migrated 650 miles south from the closest elk range in Oregon. , DataTimes
