Poison Warnings Schoolchildren Learn To Be Smart About Chemically Harmful Products
Kids need to know about the potential poisons in their homes, says Leslee Schoengold, an educator with Community Health Education and Resources.
For example, to the untrained eye, a pill can look an awful lot like an M&M candy.
Jefferson Elementary third-graders spent Tuesday morning learning from Schoengold about the potential dangers of common household products and what to do if poison exposure occurs.
The presentation was part of the Poison Prevention Poster Contest. About 5,000 area third- through fifth-graders will participate in the poster contest. Winning posters will be displayed on billboards during the National Poison Prevention Week, March 15-21.
