Fire Hits North Spokane Home

From Staff And Wire Reports

A fire caused by an improperly installed pellet stove caused serious damage to a north Spokane home Thursday evening, Spokane Fire Department officials said.

Firefighters were called to the home at 1523 W. Boone about 7:40 p.m. and found flames and smoke coming from a side wall, Battalion Chief Skip Powell said. No one was injured.

The fire was quickly contained. Firefighters had to tear down a living room wall as well as parts of the ceiling and second-floor walls to make sure the fire had not spread, Powell said.

There were no smoke detectors in the home. , DataTimes
