Ex-Boyfriend Held In House Fire
A 23-year-old Pasco man was booked for investigation of arson after telling authorities that he set a fire that destroyed his former girlfriend’s house.
No people were home at the time of the Saturday morning blaze in south Kennewick. But two cats presumably died, and two dogs were turned loose on the streets.
Aaron F. Stone, a former boyfriend of Valoree Calhoon, appeared at the Kennewick Police Department shortly after the fire and admitted starting it, said Benton County Sheriff Jim Kennedy.
Stone was booked into the Benton County jail.
Neighbors reported hearing a loud explosion shortly before 4 a.m. Within minutes, the house was filled with flames, a neighbor said.
