Nlrb Chairman Says He Will Step Down

The chairman of the National Labor Relations Board, William B. Gould IV, said he will resign before his term ends in August.

Gould announced his resignation in a letter to President Clinton and pointed to the “considerable strides” that have been made in labor conflict resolution since he assumed the post of chairman in March of 1994. Gould said he would leave at some point before Aug. 27, when his term expires.
