Softball Season Ends Soon

Spokane Valley Softball will complete its season early next week and begin tournament play on the weekend.

Standings are beginning to sort themselves out after a series of first-place showdowns.

16U League: Evergreen Physical Therapy remained undefeated with a makeup 9-5 victory over Valley Blue.

The team led the Giants going into Wednesday’s games with three games still to play.

The Giants had a pair of games when every player hit safely, including Adreanne Yasber who was 4-for-4 and scored four runs, Molly Cheney who went 5-for-5 and Melissa McGlasson who drove in six runs in one game.

14U League: Insulation Specialist opened a two-game lead on a pack of four teams in this hotly contested league.

During wins last week Amanda Norwood went 4-for-4 with two doubles, Kayla and Lacy McComas who subbed for her sister, combined for five successive hits, two of them doubles.

Runnerup American Linen got a five RBI game from Brandi Williams and Arin Martinez hit a triple and home run among three hits.

Teammates Kristie Pritchard and Trisha Donner each drove in three runs.

Athletics player Alisha Miller hit three triples.

12U League: A pair of edge-of-yourseat one run victories left Dr. Benage alone in the American Division.

Included was a 12-11 win over previously perfect Perfection Tire on a run in the last inning.

Perfection had gone into the game unbeaten on Heather Webb’s 8-strikeout pitching effort in an earlier game.

Impact Services Jamie Zink hit a 3-run home run during a win last week.

In the National Division, Les Schwab became the only unbeaten team and took a two-game lead when Ponti Vet Hospital lost twice.

Kaelyn Pavlischak hit a home run and drove in five runs and Jessic Pluid tripled and drove in four runs as Valley Garbage edged Ponti 23-21.

10U League: This league remains a five-team battle.

White Elephant’s Sabrina Mallah hit multiple home runs in one game and Alex Marquard went 4-for-4 with three doubles in another.

Elsewhere, Double Dans stayed close as Leah Archibald hit a grand slam home run.

Tan Lines won for the sixth straight time. Katy Pinnock hit a two-run double and Rachel Flambouras struck out five batters in two innings of one win. Katie McCollum had three hits, including a double and Flambouras tripled and singled in another.
