Kallas for state Rep.
John Kallas, a third generation Valley resident and Washington State University graduate, is ready to provide a voice in Olympia for those who live in the 4th Legislative District, but have no political clout.
We work 40 to 60 hours a week and never seem to get ahead. We get laid off, sick or downsized. No new jobs open up for the over-40 crowd.
Our traffic flow is a mess and serious street crime has become commonplace all along the freeway corridor.
Health insurance has become tied to the workplace, but most of us go without or are unable to change jobs because of unnecessary long waiting periods for coverage.
John Kallas was Spokane County’s first crime analysis officer. In a 21-year law enforcement career on both sides of the state, he disarmed gangs through his insight into the effects of poverty on their antisocial acts.
His stint as union president for the Tukwila (Wash.) Police Officers Association Local 911 gave him a platform to tackle social reform similar to that which he will use to bring state aid to our district when we elect him to the statehouse.
John Kallas fights for safety on the streets and in the workplace. He will achieve this through decent roads, decent wages and decent education. Edward Sawatzki Veradale
Repair roads at night
Let’s plan our road construction at night. The plus is that it is cooler for the workers and there’s less traffic congestion.
Everybody talks about this and agrees that the solution is solved.
Just go for it. Keith V. Peterson Greenacres
