Bible School Has Swimming, Nature Study
Opportunity Christian Church is offering kids the chance to learn a little about nature and cool off with daily swims during its vacation Bible school. The school is scheduled from Aug. 4-7 at the Zephyr Conference Center on Liberty Lake.
Classes will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day and children age 2 through the sixth grade are invited to attend. In addition to nature study and swimming, the school also includes drama, music, Bible study and creative arts.
Children are asked to bring a sack lunch, swimsuit and towel each day. Parents are responsible for providing transportation to and from the conference center. Cost is $5 per child or $7.50 per family for non-church members.
Advance registration is required. The deadline is July 30. To register, call the church office at 926-3691.
Opportunity Christian will also host an ice cream social at 6 p.m. on Sunday. The free event will also include bingo and other games.
SonLight Island Bible school
Opportunity Presbyterian Church, 202 N. Pines, will host its vacation Bible school Aug. 3-7. Classes will run from 9 a.m. to noon each day and are open to all children age 3 through the eighth grade.
The theme of this year’s event is “SonLight Island.” Children will make crafts, play games, sing songs, study Bible stories and perform skits. The cost is $8 per child with a $20 maximum per family.

Mission car wash
Pasadena Park Church of the Nazarene, 8822 E. Upriver Drive, will host a car wash in its parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today. Proceeds from the car wash will benefit a mission team leaving for Dominica later this month.
