Cda Food Handler Has Hepatitis A
A food handler at the Village Inn Restaurant has been diagnosed with hepatitis A, according to the Panhandle Health District.
The case is isolated and no customers have been reported ill, health officials said late Tuesday.
The restaurant is at 300 Neider Ave. on the corner at U.S. Highway 95. Customers who ate there on July 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 or 18 may have been exposed to the infectious virus.
Health officials are advising those customers to receive immune globulin to prevent or reduce symptoms of the disease. The shots will be given at the health district clinic, 2195 Ironwood Court, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday for those who ate at Village Inn on July 10, 11 or 12.
For people who ate at the restaurant on July 13, 14 or 18, a clinic will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday.
The Village Inn will pay for the injections. All employees are being immunized as well. The restaurant has scored well on inspections and has excellent sanitation practices, health officials said.
