Sirti Issues 1998 Request For Proposals
The Spokane Intercollegiate Research and Technology Institute has announced its 1998 request for proposals. The independent agency is especially looking for companies which can be brought to market by March 2000 and with products of interest to the Department of Defense.
That deadline comes about two weeks before SIRTI’s initial six-year, $15 million grant expires. To keep the agency operating toward its goal of supporting start-up technology companies, SIRTI officials are exploring a pair of grants from the Department of Defense, and state funding.
Grant awards from $25,000 to $200,000 are available for projects advancing digital, environmental or emerging technologies. Private companies, entrepreneurs and academic experts are invited to propose projects that will create jobs or grow regional companies.
Preproposals may be submitted through Oct. 1, and full proposals are due Nov. 2.
