Boy Arrested In Two Robberies
A 14-year-old boy was arrested Tuesday after two people told Spokane police he robbed them at knifepoint on the South Hill.
The first robbery occurred about 9:30 p.m. near Madison and 13th, police said. An elderly man said he was walking his dog when a teenager walked up to him, pulled out a knife and asked for money.
The victim handed over some change and the boy ran off, police said.
About 30 minutes later, a woman who was waiting for a bus at 13th and Jefferson was robbed of cash and checks by a knife-wielding teenager, police said.
Police spotted the 14-year-old boy in the vicinity shortly after the second robbery. They arrested him after both victims told officers he was the one who robbed them.
He was booked into the juvenile detention center on two counts of armed robbery.
