Police Impostors Attack, Rob Woman
Two men posing as police officers broke into a north Spokane home Sunday morning, attacked a woman living there and stole her car, Spokane police said.
About 3 a.m., two men pounded on the front door of the woman’s home in the 1400 block of West Providence. The men said they were police officers and that the woman’s car had been stolen, the victim told police.
When she opened the door, the men rushed her and one of them sprayed something like ether into her face, she said.
She was thrown to the floor, bound in duct tape and draped with a blanket. The men took her purse and credit cards, cut her phone line, then took her Ford Thunderbird and left.
The woman wasn’t able to get help until about 5:30 a.m. Police found the car abandoned in the neighborhood a short time later.
The woman could provide no description of the two assailants other than that they were white males.
