Highway 53 Project Begins Thursday
A project to improve Idaho Highway 53 from Rathdrum to U.S. Highway 95 will begin Thursday and create traffic interference for the next six weeks, the Idaho Transportation Department announced Tuesday.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane during paving and sealing. Contractor crews will work Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. to lessen the impact to motorists during the morning and evening commute, ITD said.
Flaggers and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work zone.
The contractor for this $550,000 project is Interstate Concrete and Asphalt of Coeur d’Alene. Work should be completed by mid-July.
