St. Stephens Honors Members

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 5720 S. Perry, will have a special worship service in Comstock Park at 10 a.m. on Sunday. The service will honor the Sunday School teachers and children.

The service will be followed by a potluck picnic and a kickball tournament. Those attending are asked to bring their own place settings and beverages in addition to something to barbecue and a salad or dessert to share. In case of rain, the picnic will be moved to the parish hall.

The women of the church will also be putting on a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Proceeds from the sale will be used to fund various outreach programs.

Worship times change for summer

The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist has switched to its summer worship schedule. Sunday services will now be offered at 8 and 10 a.m. each week. The 5:30 p.m. Saturday worship service will continue during the summer.

The church is located at 127 E. 12th.

Centenary United Methodist Church, 1012 S. Freya, will begin its summer worship schedule on Sunday. Services will be at 10 a.m. each week. Sunday school will resume in the fall.

Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church, 4102 S. Crestline, will begin its summer worship schedule on Sunday. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. each week. Child care and activities for older children will be available.
