We Can Hold Memories Dear
The four years of high school that seemed to be a lifetime have just ended. Although Gonzaga Prep’s seniors have anticipated this conclusion (and in fact implored its arrival), we have had little time to look back upon how we have reached this point.
Now, suddenly we are caught in situations where we hope to capture the “high school experience” in a few words in a yearbook or in the slide show at graduation. But perhaps the best we can do is glance through photos of classmates and friends and realize the emotions they conjure. These emotions are the high school experience. I can not capture them in words; I may not even understand what I am feeling. But I will remember the moments that have changed me.
I remember my moments of happiness: making Spanish videos, tennis-trip ice cream stops, late ASB meetings, jazz band ski trips. My response and emotions to these memories combine with two hundred other responses to many different memories to capture the spirit of our graduating class.
The Gonzaga Prep senior class is filled with individuals who will each have memories as varied as their interests and experiences. Although we are all individuals with our own recollections, we have been forever influenced by each other through moments in the classroom, on the playing field and, most of all, our shared Search experiences.
As we now branch off into our separate ways, we remember T.B.I.Y.T.C. and leave with pieces of each other.
