Ccs Will Receive $715 From Microsoft

From Staff Reports

FOR THE RECORD (June 12, 1998): Amount wrong: The Community Colleges of Spokane will receive $715,000 from the Microsoft Corp. A headline in Thursday’s paper reported a lower amount.

The Community Colleges of Spokane officials said Wednesday that the district will receive $715,000 of the $10.8 million in donated software that Microsoft Corp. is giving to Washington’s community and technical colleges.

Microsoft announced its software donation last week.

The allocation to Spokane’s community college district is the second-largest in the state, behind Seattle’s district.

More than 80 percent of the software given to the CCS will be used to support a systemwide upgrade to Office ‘97, a suite of Microsoft products.

The Microsoft gift earmarks $368,008 in software for Spokane Community College; $228,780 for Spokane Falls Community College; and $123,638 for the CCS district administration.
