Churches Plan Children’S Bible Schools In June
Summer worship schedules and vacation Bible schools are the order of the day at North Side churches during the month of June.
St. Peter Lutheran Church, 4620 N. Regal, will host its vacation Bible school June 22-26. The school is open to all children age 3 through the sixth grade. Classes will run from 9:30 a.m. to noon daily.
Children will have the opportunity to sing songs, make crafts, play games and learn Bible stories. There is no charge for the program.

Also, the youth of St. Peter will host a car wash in the church’s parking lot at 10 a.m. on Sunday. Proceeds will be used to help pay for an upcoming retreat.
The Deer Park Church of the Nazarene will host its vacation Bible school Monday through Friday. Classes will run from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day. Participants will have the chance to make crafts, play games and listen to Bible stories.
The theme of this year’s event is “Adventure Island - Come Follow the Son.” The school is open to all children age 4 through the sixth grade. There is no charge.

Penny for a song
The youth choir of North Hill Christian Church will be running two fund raisers on Saturday to help raise money for their performance tour that begins next week. A rummage sale will be at the church from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and a car wash will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the church parking lot.
The Emanon Youth Choir will perform in Kirkland, Olympia, Tacoma, Mt. Vernon and Bellevue, Wash.
New schedule at Whitworth
Whitworth Presbyterian Church will combine all four services into one this Sunday. An all-church worship service to celebrate Pentecost will be at 9:30 a.m. in the Cowles Auditorium on the Whitworth College campus. There will be child care available for children up to age 5.
Concert at Messiah Lutheran
Messiah Lutheran Church, 4202 N. Belt, will host the Choir of the Crown of Thorns in concert at 7 p.m. on Sunday. The choir will perform the cantata “The Father of Mercies.” The performance will also include music by harp, cello, bass, percussion, piano and organ. The concert is free and all are invited to attend.
Summer worship schedules
Messiah Lutheran will switch to its summer worship schedule on Sunday. Only one service will be offered at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday.
Shadle Park Presbyterian Church, 5508 N. Alberta, will begin its summer worship schedule on Sunday. The church will offer one service at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday. The service will be a blending of traditional and contemporary. Nursery care, youth groups and Sunday school will continue throughout the summer.
Audubon Park United Methodist Church will switch to one worship service at 10 a.m. each week beginning Sunday. The church is located at 3980 N. Driscoll Blvd.
Sunday classes end
Sunday is the last day for Sunday School classes at Lidgerwood Presbyterian Church, 4449 N. Nevada. Classes will resume in the fall. The worship service will remain at 10:30 a.m. during the summer.
