Cyclist Arrested On Drug Charge

Sheriff’s deputies arrested a bicylist on East Broadway Sunday night.

Kenneth J. Beydler, 38, of 11408 E. Valleyway, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, deputies said.

Officers stopped a man they saw bicycling just before midnight without a headlight and in the wrong lane. The bicyclist reached into his pocket and threw something on the ground, according to the police report. Deputies found an eyeglass case containing drug paraphernalia and a suspicious powder on the ground nearby.

The detained man had three warrants, officers said.
