Children Learn About Other Countries In Bible School
‘God’s Kids Pray - HOPE World Tour” is the theme of this year’s vacation Bible school at Christ Lutheran Church, 13009 E. Broadway.
The school is open to all children age four through the sixth grade. Classes will run from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday.
Participants will learn about different countries such as Israel, Thailand, Latvia, Chile and Namibia. The children will study Bible stories, make crafts, play games, and participate in a variety of activities.
Registration will be at 8:45 a.m. on Monday. The cost is $8 per child with a maximum of $16 per family. For more information, call the church office at 928-7733.
‘Space Mission Bible Camp’
Pasadena Park Church of the Nazarene, 8822 E. Upriver Drive, will host “Space Mission Bible Camp” June 22-26. Classes will run from 6:30 to 9 p.m. each day. The camp is open to all children in grades K-6.
The focus will be on hands-on learning, including drama, games, crafts, and videos. No advance registration is required and the camp is free. For more information, call the church office at 926-5858.
The church will also host a potluck and “singsperation” on Sunday following the 10:50 a.m. worship service. Those attending are asked to bring a hot dish and a salad or dessert.
Tri-parish progressive dinner
St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection will host a tri-parish Corpus Christi celebration today.
Those attending the progressive dinner will meet at 6:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s, 304 S. Adams Road, for a procession to the Church of the Resurrection Outreach Center, 15319 E. Eighth, for appetizers. Dinner will be served at Good Shepherd Lutheran, 810 S. Sullivan, and participants will return to St. Mary’s for dessert.
There is no charge for the event and all are invited to attend.
Ministry for K.I.D.S.
Preston Ministries will be the featured guests at New Hope Christian Center’s special K.I.D.S. (Kids in Divine Service) event that begins Sunday.
The ministry team, based in Seattle, will use puppets, character, illusions, story telling, balloon sculptures, object lessons and unicycling to present their message.
The event will be at 5 p.m. on Sunday and at 7 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. For more information, call the church at 926-5536.

Church volunteers honored
Several volunteers at Peace Lutheran Church were honored recently by the Aid Association of Lutherans Branch 10124.
Honored during the “Just Say Thanks” ceremony at the church were: Olaf and Alice Johnson, LeAnn Bench, Claude and Becky Murray, Bev Ford, Bob and Tracy Allen, Ed and Ann Koschalk, Darrel Johnson, Will and Gloria Ostendorf, Rich Neal, Ed Rieger and Pastor Dennis Andersen.
Millwood Pres Bible school
Vacation Bible school runs June 22-26 at Millwood Presbyterian Church, 3223 N. Marguerite Road.
Those who register by June 15 pay just $7; the cost goes up to $10 after that date.
Class times are 9 a.m. to noon.

Summer worship schedules
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 810 S. Sullivan Road, will change its Sunday worship times to 8:30 and 10 a.m. each Sunday beginning this week.
The church will also start offering a weekly service at 7 p.m. each Wednesday. This week’s service will be in Sullivan Park and will be preceded with a brown bag dinner at 6 p.m. The park is located off the freeway on Sullivan Road next to the Valley Mall.

Opportunity Presbyterian Church, 202 N. Pines, will begin offering a worship service at 7 p.m each Wednesday this week. A family potluck dinner will precede the first service.

Opportunity Christian Church, 708 N. Pines, will begin its summer worship service schedule on Sunday. Sunday school will begin each week at 9 a.m., followed by a singsperation at 9:50 a.m. The worship service will be at 10 a.m. each Sunday.
Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2511 S. Pines, will also begin its summer worship schedule on Sunday.
The worship service will be offered at 9 a.m. each Sunday. A weekly service at 7 p.m. on Wednesday will also begin this week.
