Locke Names Three More Student Trustees
Gov. Gary Locke on Friday appointed three more college students to serve on the governing boards of their respective universities.
Locke named new student trustees for Eastern Washington University, Evergreen State College and Western Washington University.
Each will serve one year, as allowed in a law passed this year permitting students to serve on college boards. Terms end May 31, 1999. All will be full voting members on issues considered by their boards, except personnel matters.
To represent Eastern Washington University, Locke appointed Aaron Gutierrez. Gutierrez, from Bothell, Wash., is a senior studying for a degree in philosophy. He currently serves as a council member of the Associated Students of Eastern Washington University and serves on the Academic Senate, Senate Rules, Undergraduate Affairs Council, Review and Proposal, and Board of Student Publications. He has been active in numerous other student organizations.
To represent their respective schools, Locke also appointed Lara Littlefield, The Evergreen State College, and Adrienne Thompson, Western Washington University.
