Idaho Republicans gave Ron Rankin’s English-only resolution the treatment it deserved when they convened last week in Coeur d’Alene: an old heave-ho. On a 15-9 vote, GOP delegates decided Idaho doesn’t need to add to its racist image by embracing the Kootenai County commissioner’s controversial resolution. Now, Kootenai County’s two other Republican commissioners should follow suit by rescinding the county’s English-only resolution they helped Rankin pass unanimously last year. And they should do so pronto.
