Violent Rapist Living Downtown

A violent Level III sex offender is living in downtown Spokane, police said.

Artemus Hubbard, 38, was released from a state Department of Corrections facility Monday. He was serving a 4-1/2 year sentence after being convicted of rape and two counts of assault, police said.

He also has convictions for two other rapes, indecent exposure and animal cruelty, police said. Hubbard has a history of severely beating his victims, police said.

Officials said Hubbard, while not wanted by authorities, is considered likely to reoffend.

He is 6 feet 1 inch tall, 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He has a one-inch scar on his forehead.
