Early Morning Chase Ends In Arrest
Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 24-year-old Valley man Sunday morning following a high-speed chase.
Edgar E. Molina, who gave his address as 1222 N. Stout Road, was arrested for attempting to elude a police officer.
The chase started just after 2:30 a.m. at the corner of Mission Avenue and Mullen Road, according to sherriff’s reports. Deputies noticed the driver of a 1988 Ford Mustang speeding and driving recklessly throughout the area. The driver almost hit two other vehicles, went though a red light, then sped up to about 80 mph in a 35 mph zone, deputies said.
The driver tried to lose police by going through several parking lots. He then drove to the 1200 block of North Stout Road and abandoned the car in the middle of the street, leaving it running, deputies said.
Deputies searched the area with a canine unit, and located the suspect in a nearby yard. Deputies believe the suspect fled because his driver’s license was suspended.
