Mill Site’S Future Remains Uncertain
Louisiana Pacific remains quiet about the status of a 33-acre former mill site on the Spokane River in Post Falls.
The property was advertised for $5 million in a sealed-bid auction that closed early this month.
“We are continuing discussions with people who have expressed interest in it,” said Chris Paulson, L-P’s corporate real estate manager.
Asking price for the parcel was reduced from $6.5 million after no acceptable bids were received at an auction last fall.
Paulson said there won’t be a third auction. If current discussions are unsuccessful, L-P will seek a sale through other means.
The property has “some peculiarities” and doesn’t lend itself well to an auction, Paulson said. He would not elaborate.
