Joint Effort Will Probe Fire

Spokane fire officials and insurance representatives will jointly investigate the cause of a fire that destroyed Sonderen’s Packaging factory early Saturday.

The investigation will not begin until today or Tuesday, said fire Lt. Michael Zambryski.

The fire caused $10 million to $12 million in damage to the North Side plant. Investigators already have outlined a 20-foot area of origin of the fire near the center of the first floor.

Because each piece of equipment must be examined, the investigation could take two weeks, Zambryski said.
