Register Early

Hunter education

Boys and girls who plan to go afield for their first hunts this fall should register early for required hunter education courses that are getting under way in Idaho and Washington.

In Washington, the Inland Northwest Wildlife Council has six courses scheduled to begin every month from April through September. Students must be at least 10 years old. Preregister by telephoning 487-8552 Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

All first-time hunting license buyers born on or after Jan. 1, 1972, are required to complete a hunter education course before purchasing a hunting license in Washington.

Idaho youths can sign up for hunter education courses by calling the Idaho Fish and Game Department office in Coeur d’Alene, (208) 769-1414. , DataTimes
