Kunze Spurs WSU To Win

Yvonne Kunze sank 20 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to help Washington State edge Southern California 68-65 on Sunday in Los Angeles.
Washington State’s Tricia Lamb sank two free throws with 12 seconds remaining, sealing the victory.
Southern California’s Kristin Clark attempted her 12th three-pointer with three seconds left, but missed.
Southern California (11-14, 6-10 Pacific 10), which was ahead for most of the first half, led 29-24 at the half.
But Washington St. (12-14, 6-11) went on a 17-2 run, taking the lead 56-52, with 5:27 remaining in the game.
Lamb and Jennifer Kerns each added 13 points for WSU.
Clark had 18 points for USC.

Melanie Pearson scored 19 points and five teammates scored in double figures as the Bruins (18-7, 13-3 Pac-10) beat the Huskies (17-9, 8-9) in Los Angeles.
Coming off the bench, Pearson also had five assists. She hit 5-of-7 3-pointers.
UCLA went on a 17-3 run to go ahead 69-50 with 9 minutes remaining. Erica Gomez, who had 10 assists, scored seven of her 12 points in that run.
The Bruins put the game away with nine straight points that made the score 93-62 with 4:38 remaining.
Washington was led by Amber Hall, who had 16 points. Megan Franza added 15 points and Jamie Redd had 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
UCLA ended the first half with a 12-0 run to take a 46-36 lead into intermission.
