Man Allegedly Tries To Run Down Two Men

From Staff Reports

A 25-year-old Spokane man was arrested after allegedly driving his car onto a sidewalk and nearly running down two men on Saturday, according to Spokane police.

Anthony H. Wilson was picked up in Suncrest by Stevens County deputies after two brothers gave Spokane police officers Wilson’s license plate number.

The brothers had been driving east on Third near Perry in Spokane when a car swerved in front of them, forcing them to turn and strike a curb, they said. They parked the car and checked for damage.

While they were standing next to the vehicle, the driver of the other car turned around, drove onto the sidewalk and accelerated toward the two men, they told officers.

Though the brothers tried to jump out of the way, one of them was struck by the car. He suffered cuts and abrasions but was not seriously injured.

Wilson was booked into jail on two counts of first-degree assault. , DataTimes
