Venus Lacy’s layup with 1.9 seconds left lifted the visiting Long Beach StingRays to a 70-69 win over Portland, eliminating the Power from the semifinals.

Natalie Williams led the Power with 27 points and 13 rebounds. She scored with 16.2 seconds left on a pass from Katy Steding to give the Power a 69-68 lead.

Elaine Powell missed a free throw, then Williams blocked a breakaway by Yolanda Griffith. The ball went out of bounds, setting up the winning play on an inbounds pass from Andrea Nagy.

Katie Smith scored 18 points to lead Columbus to a victory against San Jose as the Quest advanced to the championship series.

After sweeping San Jose, Columbus will face Long Beach in the best-of-5 series beginning next Sunday.

Tonya Edwards scored 16, Shannon Johnson 15 and Andrea Lloyd 14 for the defending champion Quest.
