Accton Acquires Packet Product

From Staff And Wire Reports

Packet Engines Inc. has licensed one of its key products to Accton Technology Corp., the largest computer networking manufacturer in Taiwan.

Packet Engines officials say Accton will immediately utilize the product - the PE-GMAC gigabit ethernet media access controller - in two switching devices Accton currently has under development.

Spokane-based Packet Engines develops hardware and intellectual property for gigabit ethernet technology. That technology allows computers linked together in networks to exchange information at the rate of 1,000 megabits - or one gigabit - per second. That’s 10 times faster than current technology allows. , DataTimes
