Man Who Called Police Arrested

A man who called Spokane police to report an assault was himself arrested on drug charges Sunday, authorities said.

Russell A. Atchison called the cops about 12:05 a.m. to say someone had threatened to hit him with a hammer.

When officers arrived at his house at 2224 W. Boone, Atchison told them the man had left. Police said they looked inside and saw drugs and drug paraphernalia lying around in plain view.

Officers asked Atchison if they could search the house, and he said OK, said Dick Cottam, police spokesman. The search turned up more drug equipment, Cottam said. Atchison was arrested and taken to jail, where he was booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance with intent to deliver. , DataTimes
