St. Patrick’s Schedules Special Lenten Service

Pastors from several churches in Northeast Spokane will be participating in an ecumenical Lenten worship service at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 5021 N. Nelson. A variety of worship styles will be represented in the service.

Churches planning to participate in the service include St. Patrick’s, Lidgerwood Presbyterian, Trinity United Methodist, Zion Christian Center, the Syrian Orthodox Church, and the Church of the Resurrection.

All are invited to attend this special celebration of Lent. For more information, call St. Patrick’s at 487-1325.

Bible study at North Hill Christian

North Hill Christian Church, 4620 N. Post, will host a Lenten Bible study during March. The study sessions will be held each week at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and repeated at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Soup suppers on Wednesdays

Grace Lutheran Church, 1827 E. Pacific, is inviting people of the community to attend its Wednesday night soup suppers and program, “What do Kids Need?” The program will look at ways community members can use neighborhood assets to help area children grow up to be responsible and caring adults.

Each evening will begin with a soup supper at 6 p.m. The study program will begin at 6:30 p.m. The sessions will be offered each Wednesday though April 1. The evenings are free and all are invited to attend. Advance registration is requested.

Emmanuel Presbyterian luncheon

The women of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church will host their annual Spring Salad Luncheon at noon on March 12. Live entertainment will be provided for those who can sit down and stay for a while, and a “speed line” will be available for those who are on their lunch break and need to get back to work.

The cost is $3.50 per person and tickets may be purchased by calling the church office at 326-1252.

Christian Youth Theater will present several performances of the children’s musical “Charlotte’s Web.” Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and March 13 and 14; 3 p.m. performances will be held Saturday and March 14 and 15. All performances will be at Uhden Hall, 1903 N. Dakota.

Christian Youth Theater is a non-profit, after-school theater arts education program offering a variety of classes in drama, voice and dance for youth ages 6 to 18. Based in San Diego, the program is now offered in nine cities around the country.

Tickets will be available at the door and are $4 for adults and $3 for children age 12 and under. For more information, call the CYT office at 624-5290.

Estate sale at Trinity United

Trinity United Methodist Church, 1725 E. Bridgeport, will host an estate sale Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Items for sale include various household items, including a china cupboard, a dinette set and a selection of collectibles.
