Church Settles Sex Abuse Suit With Altar Boys
Three former altar boys who accuse a former priest of sexual assault will receive $7.5 million as part of a settlement announced Thursday.
The Catholic Diocese of Dallas agreed to pay $3.1 million to settle a portion of the alleged sexual assault cases involving former priest Rudolph Kos.
Two insurance companies, Lloyd’s of London and Interstate, will pay the remaining $4.4 million.
It was alleged that Kos molested altar boys over more than a decade and that church officials knew about the problem but covered it up.
The other eight plaintiffs remain in mediation.
