Handguns, Rifle Taken From Tom’s Sportco

From Staff And Wire Reports

Several handguns and a rifle were stolen early Thursday during a burglary at a sporting goods store.

Police believe the burglar rammed a rear door at Tom’s Sportco twice with a car to get inside. The impact bent the business’ steel doors and forced a wall off of its floor plate.

A glass gun case also was smashed inside the store. Four 9mm pistols, a 10mm pistol and a .22-caliber pistol were stolen from the case.

A Colt-model AR-15 rifle also was taken from behind the counter.

The value of the guns was estimated at nearly $4,300. Damage estimates totaled more than $3,400.
