Here’s An Idea That’s All Wet
The maker of the leading disposable diaper brand has an alternative to the waterlogged, droopy attire many toddlers wear at the beach.
Kimberly-Clark Corp. is introducing disposable swimpants nationally this month after testing them in five markets last year.
It calls them Huggies Little Swimmers and pitches them as trim, durable replacements for the disposable diapers toddlers often wear while playing at the pool or beach.
Kimberly-Clark says its market tests last year indicated that there may be a $30 million to $50 million annual market nationwide for the disposable swimwear.
But the arrival of another throwaway consumer good already has led to complaints from environmental activists, even as it was welcomed by some parents.
