Alpine skiing/snowboarding

Schweitzer Mountain is offering a break on ticket prices for spring break. From now until April 12, students 23 and younger with college I.D. can ski weekdays for $15. Info: (208) 263-9555.

Come ski for $10 today at Lookout Pass. Saturday is the last day for free ski lessons. Beginner lessons start at 10 a.m., upper level at 11:30. Info: (208) 744-1301.

It’s “Back to Jackass Days” this weekend to celebrate 30 years at Silver Mountain. The weekend starts with $12 Cheap Ski Day Friday. Events throughout the weekend include the Big Air contest, the Absolute Ski Race, an ice carving exhibition, and a freestyle contest. Enter the Swimsuit Run and get a free midweek lift ticket. The resort will be closed Mondays and Tuesdays the remainder of the season. Info: (208) 783-1111.

With more than a foot of new snow at Big Mountain, trails are still open and should be groomed for the weekend. The U.S. National Telemark races, which started Thursday, continue through Sunday.

Nordic skiing

The Rendevous System has been groomed in the Methow Valley along with the Methow Community Trail. Patterson Lake is closed for the season and trails from Power’s Plunge to town are closed due to low snow.

Snowmobiling

Sled trails on Mount Spokane are groomed Thursday through Monday.
