Seasonal Residents Spared Wwp Fee

From Staff And Wire Reports

Seasonal Idaho residents were spared a monthly minimum fee from Washington Water Power by the Idaho Public Utilities Commission.

The commission rejected a request from WWP to charge a monthly minimum to seasonal customers who disconnect and reconnect within a 12-month period.

WWP proposed charging $8.50 a month plus a reconnection charge of $16, or $32 outside normal working hours.

The commission instead approved an alternative proposal to give WWP customers the choice of going inactive but remaining connected to the system for a $4 per month charge. Customers choosing to disconnect would be required to pay a $24 reconnection fee, or $48 to reconnect during non-business hours.

The commission also ordered WWP to cease its practice of charging monthly minimum disconnection fees to seasonal Sandpoint area residents. , DataTimes
