Purdue Suspends Coach

Purdue University suspended its baseball coach after accusing him of hitting a player following a game in California.

The school said Steve Green struck the unidentified player Tuesday after Purdue lost to Evansville 8-6 on the second day of the annual spring tournament at Fresno State. Purdue said no one was injured.

Associate athletic director Joni Comstock flew to California to investigate.
